I present the following items for your consideration:
1. Anna Katherine von Telgte.
Name and device resubmission. Vert,
a bear rampant between three mullets argent.
(Fontaine dans Sable) Gender:
Female. Submitter
cares most about the language/culture of the name, cited as 13th-15th
Century German. No major changes accepted.
The previously submitted name, Anna Katherine Spinner, was
returned on the April
2006 LoR for lack of documentation and incorrect formation of the
German byname. The device, Vert, a bear rampant and in chief two
mullets argent, was returned for lack of a name.
Anna: "Medieval German Names from Silesia" by Talan Gwynek (http://www.s-gabriel.org/names/talan/bahlow/bahlowFem.html),
documents Anna in this spelling to 1383.
Katherine: "Medieval German Names from Silesia" by Talan Gwynek (http://www.s-gabriel.org/names/talan/bahlow/bahlowFem.html),
documents Katherine in this spelling to 1366.
Anna Katherine is also the submitter's legal name; driver's license
copy included .
Telgte is a German town in Westphalia near Münster. It received
town privileges in 1238, and has been a Pilgrimage destination since
the 14th Century. It was a member of the Hanseatic League dating to
1470. Sources: Wikipedia entry on Telgte (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Telgte);
UCESM - site of the European Catholic Church (http://www.ucesm.net/ucesm_en/marie_%20en_europe_1_en.htm), in discussing the veneration of
Mary, states: "Another ancient
Marian 'Mecca' in Germany is the Sanctuary of Our Lady of Sorrows in Telgte
near Münster (Westphalia): 14th century." The town is mentioned on
the Hanse Portal of Gdansk (Hanseatic League) website, in a chronology
of the Hanseatic League (http://www.hanza.gdansk.pl/kronika_a.html).
2. Heinricus Landœse. Device resubmission. Sable, in pale two swords in saltire and a
stag couchant argent.
(Dúthaich Beinne Áird)
The name was
registered in March
2005. The previous device submission, Per fess sable and argent, a horse courant
argent and three gouttes two and one gules, was returned on the November
2004 Outlands Letter of Response: "This device is returned for
conflict with Elaina de Sinistre, Per fess sable and argent, in
chief a needle bendwise sinister argent and in dexter base in bend
three gouttes-de-sang, with a single CD for arrangement. There is
no CD for any changes to only of one of four charges (horse vs.
needle)." The current submission is a complete redesign.
3. Tiberius Acilius Brutus.
Device resubmission. Gules, a
natural leopard couchant guardant, in chief two gladius swords crossed,
Or.
(Dragonsspine).
The name was registered in March
2006. On that same LoAR, the previously submitted device, Gules, in fess a natural leopard couchant
guardant between two Ionic columns Or, was returned: "This is
returned for conflict with Randall of Willowrock, Gules, in fess a
mullet inverted between two Doric columns argent, reblazoned
elsewhere in this letter. There is a CD for changing the tincture of
the primary charges, but no difference for changing the type only of
one of three charges in fess."
This item was submitted on the old forms. Your call, Lord Rampart.
Thus ends the November
2006
Letter of Presentation.
Your servant,
Francesca, Castle Herald
