Unto Marie de Blois, White Stag Principal Herald and the Outlands College of Heralds, does Æðeluulf Munec, Rampart Herald, send well-wishes of health and prosperity in these harvest months. I write you this day concerning the September Letter of Reponse for the Kingdom of the Outlands.

- Thyræ úlfr - New Device - Per pale vert and sable, a wolf statant argent and a chief Or
- Víga-Víkingr í Horni - Resub Device - Per bend sinister gules and sable, a horn Or and a dragon's head couped argent
- Zafirah al-'Aliyya - New Name & Device - Per bend sinister vert and sable, a crescent argent and a duck naiant Or.The blazon has been updated from [Per bend sinister vert and sable, a crescent argent and a duck naiant Or] to reflect the duck's positioning as an animal 'underway'.
The following items have been returned for further work:
- Ælfwynne The Wanderer New Name & Device - Per bend sinister argent and Or, a dolphin vert and a sun gules.
[the Wanderer] is an SCA-compatible byname, but recent precedent [Wulfwyn æt Mældun, 01/2004, A-Ansteorra] indicates that the combination of Middle and Old English is no longer a weirdness, and instead violates RfS. III.1.a. As the byname is a compatible name without a period equivalent (as stated in the 'compatiblity' list, we are unable to make any changes to make this registrable.
The device is clear from conflict, but must be returned due to the lack of a
name to send it forward.
- Molle of the Beothuk - New Namd & Device - Per chevron sable and purpure, two bear paw prints and in chevron two arrows
inverted argent
[of the Beothuk]: Much information was presented on the March and August 2007 Letters of Presentation, but all of the websites, written post-period and without citations, identifies the only tribe of natives in the area at the time of European contact to be the Beothuk. The first europeans to mention contact with any natives were the Vikings, who called them "Skraelling", not Beothuk. As the Rules for Submission indicate that we cite from European Sources 1600 CE and before, and the provided documentation does not provide period citations, the name element "of the Beothuk" cannot be registered.
Regarding the device submission, the concerns about the style of the arrows and bear prints from the original return in March were addressed by the submitter, but the device still has some artistic issues. The angle of the chevron formed by the arrows should match the angle of the chevron found in the line of division. Additionally, the device must be returned for lack of a name to pass it along with.
This ends the September Letter of Response, dated this 29th day of September in the year of grace 2007, being the forty-second year of the society, during the celebration of Michael and All Angels. I remain in service to Crown and Laurel Sovereign.
