It is our intent to register the following items:
The name has been submitted to Laurel on the April 2007 Letter of Intent from the Kingdom of the Outlands.
Some commentary was made that the wolf may not actually be statant and that this may be more of a horizontal rampant.
Gender: Female. The submitter cares most about the language/culture of the name, defined as Irish. She wants the name to have the meaning "Geileis, daughter of Amargein". Changes accepted.
[Geileis]: O'Corrain & Maguire, Irish Names, p. 110, shows [Geiléis] as the modern Irish feminine, post 1200 form, with [Gelgéis] as the early Irish form.
[Amargein]: O'Corrain & Maguire, Irish Names, p. 22, shows [Amargein] as an early Irish masculine pre-1200 form, and [Amirgin] as a post 1200 form.
The particle "ingen" is Middle Irish. Four women with this genitive particle living between 1383 and 1594 appear in Irish Annals:, d. 1383:Annal E, Entry M1546.1; d. 1579: Annal LC2, Entrey LC1579.15; d. 1583: Annal E, Entry M1583.16; d. 1594: Annal F, Entry M1594.5 [O'Brien, cf Onóra]. Name changed from [Geileis ingen Amargein] to [Geléis ingen Amargein] to provide temporal consistency.
Gender: Male. The submitter cares most about the meaning of the name (Joshua, sone of Dennis). No major changes accepted.
[Joshua]: "Late 16th Century English Given Names" by Talan Gwynek (http:www.sca.org/heraldry/laurel/names/eng16/eng16alpha.html) cites one instance of this name in this time period and place.
[Dennesson]: Reaney & Wilson, A Dictionary of English Surnames, 3rd ed., pg 131, under the heading "Denison, Dennison", dates the submitted spelling to 1450.
One Commenter felt that the scroll may be perceived as trian aspect.
Blazon changed from [Per bend vert and argent, a scroll and a lion's gambe all counterchanged] to [Per bend vert and argent, an open scroll and a lion's gambe fesswise all counterchanged] to account for the nature of the scroll and the orientation of the lion's gambe.

Commenters provided documentation for the element [inn] to whit: _The Old Norse Name_ by Geirr Bassi Haraldsson, p 19, states that [inn] is an article meaning [the] which is used in conjunction with a weak adjective nickname. There does not appear to be specific documentation regarding [eykr] as such an adjective.
Gender: Male. The submitter cares most about the sound of the name. No major changes accepted.
[Tómas]: Geirr-Bassi Haraldsson, _The Old Norse Name_, p, 15, indicates that the name is of Christian origin and appears in the "Family Sagas"
[Halvar]: _Roland Otterbjörk, Svenska förnamn_, p. 96, header Halvar, dates this form of Halvard (Hallvard) to 1554. The submitting herald notes that this documentation has previously been used to document the registered names Ingvarr Halvarson and Ulrik Halvarson.
Commenters had concerns that this device implied a marshalling of arms. There was also concern that the two types of hands would violate the "sword and dagger" rule. Rampart is choosing to send this to Laurel for a specific determination and ruling on hands with missing digits.
