As a result, the charge is not identifiable, which is a violation of Section VII.7.a of the Rules for Submission, which requires that "Elements must be recognizable solely from their appearance." This badge submission caused considerable controversy and comment on a number of heraldic lists, with commenters arguing both that the motif of "Kohanic Hands" is presumtuous and should not be registered, and others arguing that it is just fine. Given that most of the arguments turn on whether membership in a particular religious/ethnic group should be protected/reserved by the College of Arms, I am submitting the badge for the Soverigns of Arms to make that determination. |
