Unto the Outlands College of Heralds, our respected friends and colleagues who give freely of their time to provide commentary, and all others who come by these letters, on this14th day of April, A.S. XLV (2011 CE), does Lady Tatiana Moskovskaia send greetings on behalf of Sheik Omar Mohammud Mirzazadeh, White Stag Principal Herald.
It would assist Castle Herald greatly in the future if you would e-mail a copy of the documentation summary for name submissions along with the paper copies; It saves having to re-type everything again. Also, please be sure that you include dates of registration and return for armory for previously registered names and resubmissions of any kind. If Castle can't find where an item was returned, it may be pended until the information is provided or payment is made for a new submission.
Here follows the Kingdom of the Outlands Letter of Presentation for April 2011. Your comments and suggestions are always welcome. Errors found herein are my sole responsibility. Anyone may comment upon the items found herein, and e-mail commentary to the herald's commentary list is encouraged. Please have comments on items contained herein to Rampart Herald by May 17, 2011, for the decision meeting tentatively scheduled for May 18, 2011. As a reminder, the College of Arms requests commentary on all items, including appeals.

1. Editha filia Rolandi - New Name and Device. Vert, on a bend
sinister wavy between two linnets close to sinister argent, three twinflowers
purpure, slipped and leaved vert.
(Caer Galen) Gender:Female. Submitter cares most about the language/culture of the name (Late 12th/early 13th century lowland Scotts-Narman).
Changes accepted.
[Editha] - "Feminine Given Names in A Dictionary of English Surnames" by
Talan Gwynek
http://heraldry.sca.org/laurel/reaneyAG.html, header Edith, cites several
examples of this spelling to the 12th to 14th centuries.
[filia Rolandi] - Latinized name - "daughter of Roland (Rolandus)".
Withycombe, "Oxford Dictionary of English Christian Names", header Roland,
states that the name was introduced into England with the Norman Conquest, is
found in the Domesday Book, and was popular throughout the Middle Ages. The
Latinized form, "Rolandus", is dated in Withycombe to the Curia Regis Rolls,
1186-1220. "Rolandi” is the genitive form of this name. "Filia" is Latin for
"daughter of". This was a common naming form in the desired time period, at
least in written records.
Submitting Herald's note - Regarding the device: this submission appears to be
the first use of the twinflower as a charge. The plant is found in moist, cool
woodland areas throughout the Northern Hemisphere, including England and
Scotland
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Linnaea. I have no idea what it might have been
called in period.

(Hawks Hollow) Alternate Name for Katelin de Irlande, which was registered in May 2008, via Artemisia http://heraldry.sca.org/loar/2008/05/08-05lar.html Gender: Female. No changes accepted.
